A Satellite Design Language

Design Languages are a method enabling the automation of design processes within Model-Based Systems Engineering. The Design Language, consisting of vocabulary and rules, is able to represent executable engineering knowledge. Johannes Gross has worked for 4 years on his PhD-Thesis on a satellite design language and he will show the creation of a small satellite called "FireSat" containing an automatic routing of all cables in the satellite.

Decision Management; RUAG Space, Zürich; A presentation by Max Zollinger

Max Zollinger, one of the first INCOSE members in Switzerland, presents an interesting insight into Decision Management.
Is it possible to achieve more accuracy with less effort making "certain" decisions in "certain" situations of Systems Engineering than we are used to? If so, it is of considerable importance to be able to define the requirements of the terms "certain" as precise as possible.

Systems Engineering with SysML @ EPFL

The speakier presents Systems Engineering with SysML. Definitions are initially given before describing system thinking which allows the systems engineer to cope with complex systems. The method recommended by the profession is sketched with some of the tools commonly used. Then comes a description of SysML internationnally praised as the language of systems engineering. The speaker shows how SysML covers this requirement and suggests paths to overcome its limitations.

The event takes place at the EPF in Lausanne.
