About Cape Town

Cape Town is a port city on South Africa’s southwest coast.

Also known as 'The Mother City', Cape Town is the largest city in the Western Cape Province, and was founded as a resupply stop for the Dutch East India Company. Today, Cape Town is the legislative capital of South Africa, and a popular tourist destination known for its beaches, vineyards and majestic landscapes and limitless ocean.

Cape Town, and the Western Cape has a Mediterranean climate. This means it experiences hot summers and mild and rainy winters. In winter most months have about hundred millimeters (3.9 inch) of precipitation. In summer months (December to March) it is warm, sunny and dry in Cape Town.
July falls within Cape Towns winter, come prepared with a warm jacket and clothes to layer with.
